Get Agent Output
Description
The Get Agent Output activity retrieves the status and main workflow outputs of a specified Agent execution using its Automation ID.
Common Capabilities
Process Data Support
This activity supports dynamic configuration using variables from the Process Data drawer.
You can bind values from Model Data, Form Data, System Data, Enterprise Variables, and Activity Outputs.

Design Time Configuration
Display Text
Specify the name displayed for the activity on the Agent Builder canvas.
Agent Name
Choose the Agent whose outputs should be retrieved.
Select the Agent associated with the specified Automation ID.
Automation ID
Specify the Automation ID of the Agent execution.
For an execution started by Invoke Agent, bind its Automation ID output from the Activity Outputs node in the Process Data Explorer.
Wait All Incoming
Controls how this activity behaves when multiple incoming execution paths converge.
Determines whether the activity executes when:
- Any incoming path completes.
- All relevant incoming paths have completed before execution.
Learn more → Execution Control
On Error
Defines how the workflow behaves if this activity encounters a runtime error.
Supported strategies include Fault, Continue, Suspend, and Retry. Select Inherit to use the workflow-level error-handling policy.
Outputs
Automation Status
Returns the current status of the specified Automation.
Result
Returns the outputs produced by the Agent's main workflow instance.
These outputs are defined in the main workflow's Workflow Parameters dialog and populated using Set Workflow Output.
Use the Activity Outputs node in the Process Data Explorer to bind returned values to compatible downstream activity properties or workflow outputs.
Remarks
- The specified Automation ID must be valid.
- The Automation must belong to the specified Agent.
- The activity retrieves outputs from the Agent's main workflow instance. Configure and populate the required outputs in that workflow before consuming them in the caller.
- When using Invoke Agent with Asynchronous execution, arrange retrieval after the invoked execution completes if downstream steps require final output values.
- Use Get Automation Info when you need execution metadata, such as the Agent version or workflow instance identifiers.
Example
An Agent named Process Order defines a main workflow output named Message and assigns its value using Set Workflow Output.
- Invoke Process Order using Invoke Agent with Synchronous execution.
- After successful completion, add Get Agent Output and select Process Order.
- Bind Automation ID to the preceding Invoke Agent activity's Automation ID output.
- From Activity Outputs, bind the returned
Messagevalue under Result to a compatible downstream field, such as a notification message.
