Installation and Licensing - FAQs

Installation and configuration

Should I use the online or offline installer?

The Web Installer is the recommended Windows installation path and checks and installs prerequisites automatically. Use component-specific MSI installers where internet restrictions prevent its use. Offline installation still requires the documented prerequisites. See installation options, Web Installer, and offline server installation.

Can I install AI Command Center on Linux?

Yes. Follow the Linux APT guide and check the validated distributions in the server requirements. Windows client tools for local automation are installed separately.

What is required for an AWS EKS deployment?

Your infrastructure team provisions the AWS environment and deploys the supplied images and Helm package. Configure the documented networking, storage, databases, and secrets. See EKS prerequisites, deployment, and verification.

How should I size the servers and Smart Stations?

Use the server tables for your deployment size and client tables for the number of Smart Buddies on a station. Account for workload demands and shared resources. See server sizing and client and Smart Station sizing.

What needs configuring after installation?

Complete first-run setup for the database, administrator accounts, SMTP, and regional settings. See welcome setup and system settings.

How do I connect Windows client tools to AI Command Center?

Use the client sign-in dialog to enter the tenant name and an authorized account's credentials. The user needs the appropriate permissions and an assigned client-tool license. Smart Station has a separate provisioning procedure using its connection key. See Process Designer sign-in and Smart Station provisioning.

How do I upgrade an existing installation?

Use the procedure for the installed component and edition. Review the target release's changes and requirements first. See server upgrade, client upgrade, Professional upgrade, and release notes.

Licensing and feature access

How do I activate a license?

Open Settings → Subscriptions → Licenses, select Activate License, and enter the serial key. Choose the activation method suitable for your connectivity. See license management and activation methods.

How do I assign a client-tool license to a user?

Activation makes subscription licenses available to AI Command Center; user allocation is managed separately. Open the user's details and manage the required application licenses. See managing application licenses.

Where can I see assigned, remaining, or expired licenses?

The Licenses page displays allocation and usage information, including assigned, remaining, expired, and total licenses. It also shows prompt usage where applicable. See license information.

How do I refresh a license after renewal or a subscription top-up?

Use Sync License on the Licenses page to synchronize an already activated subscription. See synchronizing an existing license.

Why is a feature unavailable even though I can sign in?

An administrator should check that your subscription includes the feature, that it is activated, and that your role grants the required permissions. See licenses, features, and roles.

Why can an automation fail a license check?

Licenses govern activity categories and execution limits as well as client tools. Inspect the reported failure and confirm the relevant entitlement and allocation. See license limits and activity category enforcement.
