IB-X 1.0 (8.3.121)
Introducing IB-X 1.0
Bring conversations, enterprise knowledge, and business actions together. IB-X 1.0 marks a major expansion of IntelliBuddies, building on the RPA foundation of IB 7.3.106 with conversational AI, a redesigned visual builder, and a broad library of business-automation activities.
With Conversational Agents, you can create assistants that answer questions, retrieve information from your organization's content, and take action through workflows. Build customer-support, employee-assistance, and service-request experiences across web chat, WhatsApp, and telephone channels—and connect those conversations to the systems where work happens.
The redesigned Agent Builder brings activities, data, tools, and workflow controls into one visual workspace. A new Knowledge Ingestion Service helps turn websites, documents, and media into knowledge your agents can use. Expanded business-automation activities connect AI-driven experiences with databases, email, spreadsheets, enterprise applications, and file storage.
This release introduces the following features through IB 8.3.121.
Turn conversations into business actions
Create assistants that combine natural-language interaction with the ability to get work done.
- Conversational Agents: build text and voice experiences that respond in context and invoke workflow tools.
- AI Agent activity: add AI-driven tasks to a workflow with configurable prompts, model settings, file inputs, and a final-answer output.
- Tools and actions: let agents call activities, populate tool inputs, and combine conversations with subworkflows and existing RPA processes.
- Agent persona and instructions: shape an agent's role, tone, and behavior for your business scenario.
- Conversation context: manage conversation history and context summarization, with configurable token and message limits.
- Knowledge-grounded answers: connect agents to organization-specific content using the Knowledge Base activity.
- Model connections: configure your AI services, including OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, and Sarvam.
- Natural voice interactions: combine streaming speech recognition and synthesis with turn detection, interruption handling, greeting playback, and synchronized text/audio responses.
- Advanced voice configuration: tune voice behavior, including speech preparation for numbers, currencies, and other structured text.
- Files and visual context: use supported file attachments and context files, including relevant images from PDF context.
- Web chat experiences: offer embedded or standalone chat, multiline input, conversation copying, and download settings.
- Chat access controls: configure authentication, IP allowlists, and allowed origins for your chat entry points.
- Conversation insights: review conversational activity and session history, with audio playback and latency information in the agent experience.
- Agent outcomes and continuity: route completed, timed-out, and cancelled conversations; retain transient instance data across suspend/resume using workflow suspension.
Build visually, with more room for your ideas
The redesigned builder puts the workflow canvas at the center of the authoring experience, with convenient access to the controls and information you need.
- Designer canvas: visually place and connect activities, organize workflows with swimlanes, and navigate with zoom, pan, and zoom-to-fit controls.
- Designer command bar: access save, save all, run/stop, publish, and canvas actions from the floating toolbar.
- Editing and navigation: use undo/redo, keyboard shortcuts, context menus, and editable connector paths to work with complex flows.
- Project Explorer: move between workflows and forms, with quick-open and quick-add shortcuts.
- Activities and tools: find workflow building blocks and search across categories when selecting AI tools.
- Process data and expressions: inspect data and build Liquid expressions, including drag-and-drop utility templates.
- Structured model data: work with expandable values, DataTable fields, and structured File/Folder references.
- Authoring views: keep workflow parameters, activity outputs, execution output, and validation errors within reach.
- Designer appearance: switch between light and dark themes while building your agents.
Connect your agents to the tools your business uses
The expanded activity library brings more business operations into the IB-X builder. Combine these activities with AI tools and workflows to read information, update systems, prepare documents, and deliver results.
| Activity area | What you can build |
|---|---|
| AI | AI-driven workflow tasks, contextual conversations, and knowledge retrieval. |
| Database | Read, insert, update, delete, and upsert records; execute queries, non-query commands, and stored procedures; import DataTable data and paginate selected records. Connect to SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle. |
| Email and Outlook | Read and filter messages, retrieve attachments, delete messages, change read status, and send template or custom email with attachments through applicable IMAP, SMTP, and Outlook activities. |
| Microsoft Excel | Read/write cells and ranges, work with formulas and formatting, locate empty cells, manage rows/columns and worksheets, and exchange structured table data. |
| Microsoft Word | Read, append, find, and replace text; populate bookmarks and tables; add pictures and hyperlinks; retrieve page indexes and save documents in another format. |
| CSV | Read CSV files into structured data and write workflow data to CSV files. |
| Google Sheets | Read/write cells and ranges, find/replace values, insert/delete cells and rows/columns, and manage sheets. |
| Google Drive | Browse and manage files/folders, upload and export content, copy/move/delete items, check existence, and select resources through the file picker. |
| IB Drive | Upload, retrieve, copy, move, rename, and delete files; create and manage folders; list items and check existence. |
| FTP and SFTP | Transfer files and automate remote file/folder discovery, creation, movement, and deletion. |
| SAP | Discover services and business objects, read/write business records, and invoke SAP actions and functions with field mapping and repeatable line-item inputs. |
| Azure Document Intelligence | Analyze documents and use the results in business workflows. |
| Azure Text Analytics | Detect language, analyze sentiment, and extract key phrases, categorized entities, and personally identifiable information. |
| OpenAI Generate Response | Generate AI responses from workflow inputs and configure response storage. |
| HTTP Request | Connect to HTTP APIs, upload files, and save file responses to a selected folder. |
| Send messages and upload/download media as part of an automated process. | |
| Workflow orchestration | Combine subworkflows with workflow outputs, suspension, and RPA process invocation. |
| Workflow triggers | Start workflows from chat messages, email, schedules, webhooks, WhatsApp messages, and IB Drive file/folder events. |
These additions expand the business-automation builder alongside the existing Primitives, Eform, External Form, and Robotic Process Automation capabilities. Excel and Word activities bring familiar document automation into this broader workflow experience.
Meet customers where the conversation happens
Bring conversational workflows to web, messaging, and telephone experiences.
- WhatsApp Business setup: connect your WhatsApp Business account, including the signup and configuration flow.
- WhatsApp conversational workflows: receive text, media, and file inputs; correlate sender sessions and create or resume the corresponding workflow.
- WhatsApp messaging and media: send responses and upload/download media from your activities.
- WhatsApp test sessions: test the experience using join codes and QR codes, with session regeneration and termination controls.
- Telephone conversations: connect conversational agents to inbound and outbound calls using Twilio and Vobiz integrations, with caller context and outbound Make Phone Call/callback handling.
- AI-service consumption: track usage across language-model, speech-recognition, and speech-synthesis services.
Put your organization's knowledge to work
Give agents useful context from the content your business already maintains.
- Knowledge ingestion workspace: configure sources and review content through a guided experience.
- Website ingestion: discover URLs, explore sitemaps, regenerate them, and choose the pages to ingest.
- File and media ingestion: ingest supported documents and media, with document/image-aware content extraction.
